April 12, 2011

These pictures are from the annual cherry blossom festival which is organized in Washington DC and runs for about 16 days (March 26-April 10) celebrating Spring season. The festival also celebrates the friendship between US and Japan; 3000 cherry trees were gifted by Japan to US in 1912 and the occasion honors the friendship between the two countries.
